Clubs and Extra Curricular Activities
There is a wide ranging variety of extra-curricular groups. We aim to get a balance between clubs which are open to anyone of any ability and those where there is some selection for a group, squad or team representing the school. We also try to involve all year groups, though there is generally an increase in opportunities as pupils get older and have developed their basic skills in curricular lessons.
The programme changes on a half termly basis and letters are sent home to parents advising them of available activities. The kind of clubs on offer is summarized as follows:-
Music
- Choir Year 4/5/6
- Recorders
- Orchestra
There are a range of music tuition lessons offered by NYCC Music teachers. These include individual and group lessons in woodwind, brass and strings. Further details, including information on fees, is sent out at the start of the year or can be obtained from the office.

If your child is to take part in a school activity which takes place outside normal school hours, you will be given written notice and consent form which is to be returned to school.
Children will normally be brought back to school and then dismissed after such events unless the school receives written notice that the parent wishes to make some other arrangement or the teacher in charge is able to deliver the child into the hands of a parent or responsible adult.
